What exactly does a model do?
A model visually presents clothing, products, brands or messages – whether on the catwalk, in photo shoots, in advertising campaigns or on social media. The aim is to convey emotions, tell stories and create a certain effect. To inspire others to buy the product.
What requirements do I need to become a model?
You too can become a model! Your age, height, measurements – IT DOESN'T MATTER!
What you need above all else is charisma, motivation and professionalism. Perfect measurements depend on your positioning as a model and are no longer a must. What is important is your desire to become a professional model, your appearance and your willingness to work on yourself and invest in yourself (e.g. strategy & marketing consulting with experts, photo and video shoots, catwalk, etc.) in order to earn 4-5-figure modelling fees. Just like in any other job!
Do I have to conform to certain ideals of beauty?
No! Today's modelling world is more diverse than ever. Whether curvy, petite, classic, ethnic or with special features – individuality and internationality are in demand and celebrated today.
What do almost all beginner models do wrong?
Many people think you can just become a model – but it's a real profession that requires the right strategy and network. Instead of preparing themselves specifically and seeking the help of experienced experts and industry insiders, many apply indiscriminately to agencies and have their photos taken by cheap photographers who offer ‘comp card shoots’ – without knowing what professional modelling agencies, casting directors and clients really look for. They often do not know which photos, videos or looks are actually required for a serious application or what customers really want to see. Instead, self-proclaimed comp card photographers or TFP shoots produce images that are not suited to the market. People often search for agencies on the internet without knowing whether they are reputable, suitable for them or have good customers. You can find more information about good agencies and portfolio shoots below.
How many models have received assignments with your support?
As international casting directors and consultants with over 30 years of experience in the industry, we have already helped thousands of talented individuals land exciting jobs. Whether they were beginners, career changers, experienced models or actors, our support enabled them to secure valuable jobs in advertising, fashion, film and television.
How much can you earn as a model – realistically speaking?
That depends on the field, your experience and your commitment. Anything is possible, from extra income to lucrative assignments with four- or five-figure fees. With the right positioning and professionalism, you can build up a stable source of income.
What do you offer?
We offer comprehensive career advice on topics such as the right strategy, marketing, positioning, posing and facial expressions, acting, e-casting, style consulting, social media presence, self-marketing, agency applications, photo and video portfolio development, and confident, authentic presentation.
Who is the counselling suitable for, and who is it not suitable for?
Suitable: Beginners and career changers. You don't need any previous experience – just the desire to embark on this journey.
Also suitable for experienced models who want to develop their skills and pursue more modelling jobs.
Not suitable: If you are under 18, don't want to invest in your modelling career and just want to model as a hobby.
Can I work as a model alongside my full-time job?
Yes! Many models start alongside their main job and build their modelling career step by step. Our career advice service is also easy to combine with a job.
What makes you special? What advantages do you offer?
With us, you will work with Birgitta Gallagher, an international casting director, photographer, casting camera acting posing expert, style consultant, agency owner, marketing and business consultant, who has been advising international clients and brands with her team for over 30 years on which models or talents are best suited to their campaigns. We know exactly what matters – what clients are looking for, what they expect from models and talents, and what qualities are necessary to be selected as a brand ambassador.
What distinguishes you from programmes run by other providers (e.g. models, actors, agencies, etc.)?
They usually have no direct insight into the requirements of clients, photographers or directors – the people who ultimately decide on casting. They work in front of the camera – we work behind the camera and therefore know first-hand what really matters when it comes to castings, job and agency applications, campaigns and bookings.
Is itsYOU a modelling agency?
No, but as casting directors and client consultants, we naturally work internationally with all major professional modelling, acting, talent and casting agencies.

Do I really need a modelling agency?
That's a good question, and there's no one-size-fits-all answer – a lot depends on your type and personal goals.
A professional agency with strong client contacts will make it easier for you to get started in lucrative jobs. At the same time, however, there are many agencies or platforms that specifically take on beginners in order to expand their talent pool – without really having active clients or concrete job enquiries. This is often difficult to recognise, especially as a beginner.
Whether the path via a reputable agency or as a freelance model suits you better – and what you should look out for when choosing and applying – you will learn all this from us: through our many years of experience, our strong network and with personal support.
